Job description

The purpose of this role is to facilitate Agri SA’s involvement in the advocacy of policy, law and programmes that relates to conservation, development and utilization of natural resources from the perspective of commercial agriculture.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum qualification:
• B.Sc Honours in Natural Resource Management, or
• LLB(Honours) specialising in Environmental Law

EXPERIENCE

• Experience in natural resources law and practice (protection of the water, agricultural land)
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a relevant profession
• Advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
• Conversant in English and Afrikaans (speak, read and write)     essential  

DUTIES (Includes but is not limited to)

Policy Advocacy:

• Evaluate and influence suggestions related to amendments to law regarding natural resources and advice Agri SA and its member with regards to:
• Water Affairs
• Natural resources
• Mining and mineral rights
• Electricity
• Write and publish papers on all Natural Resource related affairs
• Networking and relationship building
• Build relationships with affiliations and give information on national policy, law and programs.

SALARY: R500 000.00 pa
