Job description

 Reporting to the Financial Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

Duties :

• Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with Astec Industries group standards, local requirements and relevant SA GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP.

• Ensuring compliance with Group Standard Operating Procedures and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.

• Compile Annual Budget.

• Quarterly Forecasting of Income Statement and Balance sheet.

• Monthly forecasting of cash flows.

• Compile annual and provisional tax returns.

• Timeous preparation and submission of VAT returns.

• Enhancement and streamlining of the financial reporting and ERP system reporting.

• Planning, organizing, leading, and controlling the activities of the staff (cashbook and creditors) involved in the production of monthly accounts.

Ensuring the payroll administration and reporting process is effective in conjunction with HR - ensure that all employee and third party payments and costs are paid timeously and recorded and reconciled monthly.

• Reconciling the relevant ledger accounts.

• Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register.

• Evaluate, investigate and report on variances to budget.

• Planning and interacting with external and internal auditors.

• Any additional duties which you may be required to perform from time to time.

• Ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

• Compliance with relevant statutory requirements.

• Compliance with Astec Core Values.

  Minimum Requirements

• Ideally the candidate will have a BCom (Hons) / CTA / CA(SA) and Articles and/or relevant experience.

• Experience in the use of accounting software such as Microsoft AX Dynamics is ideal.

• Ability to work overtime when needed to meet deadlines.
