    Chief Financial Officer

    Job description

    Our client which is a National Public Entity is looking for an experienced CA (SA) to fulfill their Chief Financial Officer role at their offices in the Pretoria area


    Salary is up to a CTC of R1 500 000 which includes Housing, Medical Aid and Pension Fund

    Requirements

    • Education: Chartered Accountant
    • 5 years’ financial management experience
    • 5 year’s senior management experience

     

    • Provide strategic financial leadership for the Company and manage the operational function to ensure effective and professional accounting, reporting and control of funding and budgets. This includes the management of the facilities, occupational health and safety and the supply chain function that supports the operations of the Company.

    The most eligible candidate will be a qualified Chartered Accountant who has a minimum of five years’ experience in a senior financial or accounting managerial position. Must have financial management, administrative, leadership, negotiation, communication, analytical and project management skills, and business acumen. An in depth knowledge of all finance legislation as required by Treasury like GAAP/GRAP, PFMA, PPPFA is an essential requirement. Furthermore, experience in managing staff is essential. Functional knowledge of the ACCPAC accounting software or any other accounting software package is an added advantage. Characteristics of a transformational leader with a clear vision and focused action would position the candidate favourably.

     The main duties

    • Maintain an effective and efficient payment system to ensure effective cash flow management.
    • Maintain an effective salary administration service that complies with legislative and good governance requirements.
    • Develop, implement and maintain a procurement (Supply chain Management) policy and procedures in line with the PFMA and PPPFA.
    • Administer effective facilities management and maintenance service by developing and, implementing appropriate building management, occupational health and safety and maintenance policies and procedures
    • Manage staff to ensure that productivity outputs are met and provide on the job coaching, training and guidance as required.
    • Preparing for and overseeing both the internal and external audits.

    The following will be advantageous:

    • An understanding of financial management for State entities and/ or government
    • Experience of managing finance in Government.
