Job description

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Primary role to collect, standardise and analyse data sources to enable reporting that better supports decision-making. Secondary role, to enable the reporting function by configuring business rules in respect of statutory and regulatory disclosure using the data acquired.

• Data Custodian
• Understands the Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting and Data integrations and requirements across the Company
• Manages the process of collecting, enriching, standardising and transforming data to better enable automated financial reporting and analytics across systems, products and business lines
• Partners with developers from systems across the Group to ensure that the data acquired is valid, accurate and complete
• Enables reporting insight and influences decision making by providing consistent, reliable and useful data in the form of dashboards or other representations of the underlying data
• Enables data governance in compliance with regulations and best standards
• Collaborates and partners with functional areas across the Group to acquire the necessary information and to provide it to others in a consolidated and standardised form
• Assistant Rule Custodian
• Maintain rules documentation and look to enhance work methods and systems to enable more efficient processing, transparency and knowledge sharing. This includes the maintenance of business rules in specific applications applied for financial and regulatory reporting (e.g. Oracle / Axiom)
• Partner with enterprise-wide stakeholders to optimise the application of accounting rules. This includes the preparation and delivery of learning programmes
• Supports projects that aim to simplify and improve the rules engine. This includes the testing of group reporting packs, understanding the impact of changes on the rules engine and minimum data requirements (MDR)
• Liaises with relevant governance forums for any changes that would impact the Financial and Analysis (FAS) packs. Performs a gap analysis and change impact assessment for review
