Job description

Loxley Partners have been mandated by a leading global investment bank to hire a Director for their investment banking team. The bank is one of the strongest investment banking performers in Africa and the appointment is prompted by strong revenue growth and deal pipeline. The role will be based in Johannesburg and will cover Sub-Saharan Africa.

Bankers with strong deal experience in consumer, mining or industrials would be particularly interesting.

Job Responsibilities

• Originate and lead deals
• Perform extensive valuation and pricing analyses
• Assist in all steps of the transaction process
• Play key leadership roles in the transaction origination process
• Take responsibility for deal origination of industry-specific transactions
• Maintaining client relations during the deal origination period and bringing industry-specific and product-specific expertise
• Initiating new client relationships and expanding a business franchise within a designated industry/product sector across Africa.

Requirements

• Must have a good number of years (10+) in investment banking in Africa in a top-tier environment
• A thorough understanding of the South African and Sub-Saharan African markets
• M&A transaction experience required
• Have the ability to originate and bring business to the firm through their own contacts and network
• Experience managing junior members at a leading IB platform
• Strong communication and modeling skills.
