    Marketing Specialist

    Job description

    Purpose of the role:

    To deliver Marketing business support in line with the overall Marketing and Communication Strategy, and to ensure effective service delivery through integrating and optimising functional activities, processes and activities. To identify, develop, present and review the effectiveness of communication via various platforms and to provide administration support

    Main Outputs:

    • Co-ordination of all Marketing and Communications administration
    • Provide complete administrative support to the Executive: HR.
    • Ensure optimum stock levels, management and maintenance of marketing collateral and promotional items.
    • Deal with correspondence, collating information and writing reports, ensuring action items and decisions arising from meetings are communicated to the relevant stakeholders.
    • Review and summarise miscellaneous reports and documents; prepare background documents and outgoing mail as necessary.
    • Efficient, accurate and timeous completion of all relevant documentation.
    • Events Management
    • Plan and executing of external events
    • Designing and administering event invitations; programmes; flyers; etc
    • Sourcing of corporate gifts
    • Budget management
    • Provide Communication support to ensure processes, systems and policies of the Marketing function are administrated in such a way, to ensure optimal service delivery in the business
    • Assist with the development, planning for, and implementation of the operational framework, processes, systems and policies of the Communication function, partnering with the Executive: HR to optimise the Marketing service delivery.
    • Contribute to best-practice communication design.
    • Build and maintain relationships with all relevant stakeholders to ensure appropriate advice for all marketing communication initiatives is given.
    • Responsible for collation of copywrite, editing and approval of all external communication and articles
    • Provide content and input to the other areas, where required
    • Draft the content for internal and external requirements e.g. newsletters(Astute Buzz), marketing collateral, etc.
    • Ensure that all communication and documentation is in line with legislation and written in plain English.
    • Continuously research and monitor the impact of communications using internal and external data resources to identify areas of improvement and effectiveness/success
    • Work collaboratively within the team; Business Development and Products, as well as with external resources to provide an effective and efficient communication service.
    • Ensure strict compliance to branding standards and trademarks
    • Management of the Marketing Support function
    • Contribute to best-practice advertising, branding and design through developing appropriate concepts
    • Assist in tactical marketing campaigns and product launches.
    • Contribute to the identification of Marketing process issues, analysis of external benchmarks, and development of solutions to determine the best operational course of action.
    • Successful media monitoring and engagement
    • Monitor media exposure through social platforms
    • Prepare and provide monthly media MIS data for management reporting
    • Identify editorial opportunities for Astute that will ensure beneficial brand exposure
    • Facilitate the drafting of required press releases.
    • Manage effective customer service and relations to deliver customer service satisfaction
    • Maintain service, quality and desired outputs within a specific functional process through ensuring compliance to tactical policies, procedures and standards.
    • Resolve escalated customer queries and complaints and provide feedback to customers on matters resolved.
    • Develop work routines in line with operational plans / schedules in order to manage achievement of service delivery goals
    • Share knowledge on, and participate in the creation of new standards, control systems and procedures to maintain service delivery.
    • Engages with others in line with organisational guidelines, policies, culture and values
    • Align own behaviour with the organisation culture and values.
    • Share and transfer process and systems knowledge to colleagues.
    • Collaborate and work with the HRM to deliver required service levels.
    • Actively participate in the team to ensure functional balanced scorecard objectives are achieved.
