Job purpose

The Business Intelligence Developer will be responsible for providing a holistic view of business data through reporting and dashboard solutions. Facilitate the integration of data from various internal and external platforms to design, develop and deploy seamless reporting solutions that provide business intelligence to enable effective decision-making across the organisation.

Education

• B Degree (IT and / or statistics)
• Certification in SQL Database and Reporting

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years’ IT technical development experience
• In-depth experience with the Microsoft BI (SSIS, SSRS and SSAS).
• Experience with Geo Spatial analysis software applications.

KPAs

• Business Data Analytics
• Identify internal client objectives and advise on suitable metrics to provide the business with relevant business intelligence
• Collect data from data warehouse and various business systems
• Conduct analyses and ongoing online testing of business data collected
• Direct quality assurance and user acceptance testing by writing test plans and managing the execution of testing
• Manipulate the data and analyse the effects of different data on each other
• Design and develop solutions that will provide business intelligence for improvement of business processes and growth within the business operations
• Make recommendations; and execute initiatives and actions arising from the analyses on how to optimise the customer experience and operational profitability
• Create and apply data management solutions that are relevant and provide information for the business to ensure the data adds value to the operations and that the business remains relevant and competitive
• Maintains confidential information and protects business data by keeping information confidential.
• Research and keep up to date with relevant data management platforms, dashboards and channels and update any changes to data management guidelines, policies and procedures and leading practice.
• BI Design, Development and Support
• Benchmark business performance across business platforms and channels and advise on KPIs
• Monitor identified KPI’s and measure the impact of programs and interventions on the business operations
• Based on the analysis of the data collected, design and develop solutions, reports, tools, and dashboards that will provide the business operations with valuable insights about the business and customer experiences
• Monitor trends in systems and applications and provide insights gained
• Report on the effectiveness of promotions, campaigns, and product performance in an effort to maximise results
• Present recommendations for review and approval with Group BI Management on initiatives, changes and updates
• Support the execution of any recommended changes and solutions developed

Reporting

• Develop dashboard concepts for reporting purposes
• Report on key metrics, analysing and interpreting trends and providing actionable insights based on available analytics data
• Develop and present business intelligence reports and draft recommendations for consideration across the multiple functions within the business
• Submit data-sets and related reports to the various stakeholders on a regular and ad-hoc basis
