    New Business Development Consultant

    Job description

    We are currently seeking an experienced Sales Executive who will be responsible for sponsorship and exhibition spaces sales on established B2B conferences and exhibitions within South Africa and throughout Africa as well.

    Requirements:

    3 – 5 years of proven success in a Sales role

    Responsibilities:

    • Selling to existing and potential exhibitors to meet and exceed sales revenue targets
    • Contacting clients to advise the benefits of sponsoring or exhibiting at the event
    • Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with key sponsors and exhibitors
    • Researching potential sponsors and securing financial sponsorship from commercial organisations
    • Maintaining telephone contact with key accounts to establish their promotional strategies
    • Visiting clients and potential clients when necessary
    • Floorplan management and allocation of stand space in conjunction with colleagues
    • Keeping abreast of market developments & identifying and researching new growth areas for sales
    • Ensuring that all sales administration is completed to a high standard including letter writing, keeping database up-to-date etc..
    • Attending industry functions when required
    • Working onsite during the build-up, open period and breakdown of all the shows actively helping clients with their onsite requirements
    • Liaising with marketing and operations teams ensuring they are kept up-to-date with exhibitor details and requirements
    • Collating and producing sales plans and reports as required
    • Liaising with the finance department to assist credit control

    Competencies:

    • Ability to build rapport with potential & existing clients
    • Ability to independently source and close new business
    • Commercial awareness
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to be resourceful and think laterally
    • A team player who can also work independently
