Job description

One of the leading financial services companies is looking for someone to join their expanding team. The incumbent will need to provide specialist support to Front Office Business unit on their financial performance and key performance indicators.

The incumbent is required to ensure that new products are accounted for in accordance with IFRS and the Group accounting policies and will also be involve in the interpretation of financial performance against metrics.

Process

• Provide specialist input through the investigation of opportunities for operational and process optimization
• Plan for value‐added process improvements, initiatives and services to deliver on operational strategy and objectives
• Draw on own technical or professional knowledge and experience to identify and develop solutions to improve process service delivery & quality
• Conduct research and collate data to serve as input to operational reporting and decision making related to area of specialisation
• Apply relevant research methodologies, tools and techniques to effectively and purposefully gather information
• Adhere to identified best practices in providing advice and support from a specialist perspective
• Analyse operational records, trends and costs related to estimated and realised revenues to project future revenues and expenses
• Source, collate, analyse and interpret financial information in order to support the review of the financial performance of the business
• Contribute to and assist in the effective execution of internal and external audits, financial statement generation & regulatory submissions
• Ensure accurate reconciliation of financial transaction records to supporting documentation to enable verification of the validity of transactions

Finance

• Assist with the effective financial control, governance and compliance throughout area of specialisation
• Forecast financial risks and escalate as required

• Contribute to the successful implementation of change initiatives by providing support in area of specialisation
• Participate in specialist communities of practice and contribute positively to own and organisational knowledge improvement

Governance

• Implement and provide input into the development of governance, compliance, integrity and ethics processes within area of specialisation
• Ensure that established accounting standards, procedures and processes are adhered to, in compliance with legislative regulations

Requirements

• CA (SA) min 5 years banking experience
• CFA optional
• Investment banking experience, preference to either Treasury or Markets environment Strong Technical Accounting experience applied in an Investment banking environment
