    Education Sales Consultant

    Job description

    Purpose of the position

    The End User Education Sales Consultant is the primary business development sales person and storng advocacy driver for the k-12 and higher education market. EUSC works with key decision makers, influencers and relevant governing as well as regulatory bodies within provinces and countries within the designated territory to introduce SMART solutions through adoption of our products.

    We are a looking for an experienced, smart, driven End User Manager to own the relationships with strategic end users in the South Africa and Africa markets as needed.

    Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you will build End User relationships and develop & execute business plans with key strategic partners (distributors, resellers and/or retailers) based in the relevant regions/countries.

    You will focus on creating and developing the go to market strategy for Education customers, building relationships with key decision makers and developing SMART’s position as the leading manufacturer of Interactive Technology and Collaboration Solutions.

    Responsibilities And Accountabilities

    • ESC will be responsible for creating a territory engagement plan that identifies priorities and strategies in order to hit a specific territor
    • ESC will provide input into strategic consortiums and DOEs for SMART to focus on
    • ESC is responsible for introducing SMART’s product solutions and working with the district from concept phase through revenue recognition
    • ESC is responsible for identifying new funding sources within a district and introduce SMART to these new contacts

    Skills Required

    • ESC responsibilities and skill set include the following:
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a team environment that includes the Territory manager, Strategic Enhancement Manager and the channel
    • A strong working knowledge of SMART’s products and software and the ability to lean new SMART solutions as they are introduced is required
    • Ability to present in front of large groups with the confidence and knowledge of both hardware and software as presentation tools

    Supervision provided and received

    The Education Sales Consultant is a field based position working independently with the guidance and direction from the Regional Manager
    The Regional Manager will have weekly-bi-weekly 1-1 conversations and will travel in the field throughout the year as required

    Education And Work Experience

    • Degree in business, education, marketing or a related field
    • Experience in forecasting and a commercial acumen
    • At least two years’ experience in education or sales for a fast-paced, technology-driven business
    • Experience working with educators
    • Strong presentation skills
    • Proven aptitude for developing relationships with key decision makers
    • Strong ability to analyze and solve problems
    • Ability to self-motivate
    • Good time-management, record-keeping and planning skills
    • Preferably, experience with SMART products

    A valid passport, or no impediment to obtaining one or issues traveling into Canada
    Note this is a remote role where you must be able to work independently from your home office and options to work within the office of the SMART local Distributor based in Johannesburg.
