    • Business Development Manager
    • Location: Johannesburg, South Africa
    • Employment type: Permanent – Full-time
    • Our client who is a global law firm is seeking a talented business development manager who will be reporting to the chief business development and marketing officer. The successful candidate will develope strategy, business and marketing plans and budgets. He/she will also be responsible for client relationships and bids management.

    What you will do:

    • Strategy, business and marketing planning, budgets:
      • Demonstrate a key role in the development and execution of the strategic business plan.
      • Identify and implement opportunities relevant to the business plan.
      • Manage the industry business development and marketing budget in line with planned activity.
      • Manage requests within available budget.
    • Client management and bids:
      • Actively contribute to the growth of the firm’s client base in engagement and revenue.
      • This includes profiling, marketing and actively seeking business development opportunities to engage with our target market on the firm’s range of traditional and non-traditional services and products.
      • Campaign/product management and corporate communications/collateral, reputation and brand management.
      • Work on the delivery of regional and global thought leadership campaigns and projects to set KPI’s and demonstrate ROI and client engagement.
      • Deliver valuable/meaningful information to promote the firm and industry groups according to our clients’ and prospects’ needs through relevant communications channels, in particular digital.
      • Work with the content team to produce relevant content communication channels of the firm.
      • Assess the need for appropriate marketing collateral and manage projects that address new needs.

    Best practice:

    Ensure all business development and marketing systems/processes follow best practice to achieve consistency and efficiency.
    Adherence to procedures and best practice including bid support, client feedback, customer relationship management, contact database, experience management and visual identity.

    The qualifications you will need:

    • Graduate calibre with demonstrable and/or professionally recognised marketing qualification (CIM, IMM ) or equivalent.
    • At least four year’s relevant business development and marketing management experience.
    • Experience working in a sales background in a professional services environment will be an added bonus.
    • Build trust amongst wider stakeholder community.
    • Understand the need and has the ability to manage expectations.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Confident.
    • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
    • Sound working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
