Graphic Designer at South African Fashion Week

Job description

We are looking for a new member to join our vibrant an creative team in the exciting world of the South African fashion industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reports to the Project Manager and Director
• The role involves listening to project needs and objectives before making design decisions
• Develop creative ideas and concepts and choosing the appropriate media and style to meet the desired objectives
• Create design solutions that have a high visual impact
• Proof-read artwork to produce quality work
• Source costs and coordinate the production of all design/branding elements that need to be printed at external printers
• Build a relationship with printers / suppliers
• Ongoing research into design trends
• Follow the SAFW timeline and adhere to the relevant design deadlines
• Photograph events

REQUIREMENTS:

• Qualification: A Degree/Diploma or equivalent in Graphic Design
• 2 - 3 years industry experience
• Knowledge of marketing and advertising principles
• Proven experience in photography
• English as a first language
• Excellent proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustration, Photoshop Acrobat, Flash, etc.
• Good time management
• A meticulous eye for detail
• Able to work under pressure and adapt
• Enthusiastic team player
• Willingness to work overtime when required
• Driver’s license and own transport
• Must be based in Johannesburg

Market related salary (will be confirmed after interview)
