Essence of the job: Managing Director for South Africa that will also take on responsibility for managing their joint venture operations within South Africa. The role will report directly to the Regional Director for the German and South African Region.

The role will be a challenging but rewarding one and they are looking for somebody with drive and passion to grow sales and promote the Company's portfolio within South Africa and Africa.

• Excellent interpersonal, technical, verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in sales, business development and business planning.
• Commercially aware with an analytical mind and attention to detail.
• A strategic thinker with operational delivery capability.

The Role:

• Responsibility for health and safety and environment within our South African operations.
• Maximise their opportunities within the market.
• To drive through sales to exceed the business plans within the various locations
• Full P&L and financial accountability for the performance of the company, working closely across functions to ensure accurate financial forecasting and reviews are made to the Group Finance Department.
• To support and develop the culture within the group and to support the furture initiatives.
• To lead, coach and develop the local team to help them deliver and exceed local business plans.
• Ensure the implementation of Group initiatives as determined by the Group Executive team.

Non Negotiable Must have's

• Steel industry experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy and BCom (must have strong business management) and Solid People skills
• They want someone who has a warm approach a dictator or autocratic person will not work in their environment
• MBA would be great
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans

Salary: Between R1.1 million and R1.4 Million CTC slightly negotiable.
