IT Risk Manager at Rand Merchant Bank

Job description

RMB is looking for an IT Risk Manager to join our Orhginisation, you must have:

• BCom Information Systems, Informatics or BSC Computer Science or Risk Degree
• Industry Qualification such as CISA, CRISC, CISM
• Five years experience in the IT or IT Risk space
• Banking or Investment Banking experience preferred but not a limiting requirment

The responsibilites of the role entail the following:

• Building a forward looking, proactive IT Risk profile of Global Markets – focussing on future/ emerging risks, issues, hotspots
• Performing IT based key risk and control identification and assessments in a forward/ looking proactive manner
• Identification and monitoring of predictive and detective IT specific key risk indicators to provide proactive insight into the risk profile. This includes facilitating the embedment of these Key Risk Indicators.
• Performing deep dives into the IT environment together with IT event investigations (understanding causes and making appropriate recommendations with respect to remedial actions)
• Report into and escalate significant risks through the Global Markets governance structures
• Interaction with Internal and External audit together with tracking the remediation of audit items
• Chairing specific IT Risk Committee(s)
• Build professional working relationships with key stakeholders
• Involvement in key IT projects in the Global Markets environment
• Work closely with and synergise outputs with the Business Assurance IT Manager
• The ability to advise, challenge and interact with various levels of staff including senior IT management
• Comfortable interacting acting with and presenting to members of senior Global Markets Management or other stakeholders/ regulators
• Can work in a dynamic, challenging, and deadline driven environment.
• Can work individually and as part of a team and is comfortable to work in a flat structure – does not require significant hand holding.
