Job description

Purpose Of The Position

To manage and lead the Fibre Resources Department including the Forestry Planning, GIS and Growth & Yield sections, with the aim of making a step change in the integrity, accuracy and certainty of the data describing Mondi Forests fibre resource.

EDUCATION

MIN EDUCATION REQUIRED: Grade 12

TERTIARY : ESSENTIAL

• BSc Forestry
• Post graduate qualification desirable

Job Experience

MINIMUM YEARS SPECIALIST QUALIFICATION

Min 10 years forestry and forest management experience with at least 3 years experience as a Forestry Planning Manager.

LICENCES/MANDATORY TRAINING

Code EB Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Manages the Fibre Resources budget components i.e. budget and estimates
• Manages the Planning, GIS and Growth & Yield sections in terms of:
• Effective service delivery
• Maintaining competitive advantage in terms of technological development and advancement
• Maintenance and integrity of the PMi and GIS databases
• Manages the Human Resources and elements thereof in the department within policy parameters
• Manages the updating of the Forests Monitoring Results report for the Management Review
• Integrates and manages the core planning functions to enhance planning system integrity and database accuracy.
• Audits compliance of planning data accuracy requirements

• Computer literacy with experience and working knowledge of MS Office is essential
