Pick an Pay has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Buyer at our offices in Kensington, Gauteng. Our Buyers play a central role in ensuring that the products we place on our shelves match the requirements and aspirations of our customers. Buying is an important role within our business and can have a direct impact on the profitability of the business. In order to be successful a Buyer needs excellent commercial acumen, strong analytical skills, brilliant organizational skills and the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively at all levels. Minimum Requirements   

Bachelors degree with a major in Mathematics, Accounting, Economics or Statistics.

Duties & Responsibilities   

• Negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing for products, an increase in sales and improved margins.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Review under-performing categories and develop solutions to improve performance Execute tactical buying plans and category specific growth strategies
• Lead cross-functional teams to achieve team goals
• Develop, translate and promote merchandising solutions to achieve business goals and influence financial performance.
• Translate available information, data and findings into specific, actionable recommendations that add value to business planning.
• Analyse financial data to accurately diagnose business realities, identify key issues and forecast future financials.
• Identify key factors and trends that impact on financial performance and implement plans to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
