An exciting opportunity exists in our Johannesburg consulting team to join the leading Software AG implementation and consulting team.
Job Summary:
The incumbent will performs consulting project activities through short- to long-term engagements requiring varied Interpersonal and technical skills. Completes assigned tasks in high quality. Meets deadlines. Contributes to a project team.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists with the assessment of project requirements.
- Produces documents according to customer/ project requirements
- Implements technical/ functional interfaces as required
- Consults/ develops/ installs as required
- Recognize and solves manageable problems and uses known escalation mechanisms when required
- Work as an individual contributor and as part of a team
- Independently write, debug and test code from specifications using SAG/WebMethods tools and other tools as appropriate. Assist in analysis of complex business problems.
- Plan, prioritize, organize and implement related tasks based on individual recommendations under general direction.
- Develops knowledge about SAG, its processes and customers
- Adhere to policies and procedures
- Must have the ability to provide verbal and written information in a timely, clear and concise manner
- Must be familiar with relevant products or other relevant topics (internal and external training)
- Must have basic presentation skills and negotiation skills
- Must have the ability to handle conflict situations
- Must further develop consulting skills
- Problem solving Skills – recognize routine problems and use existing procedures to evaluate and solve them
- Analytical and interpersonal skills – ability to analyse information and explain issues/ solutions identified to others in a comprehensible way.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues in team/project
- Requires conceptual knowledge and skills in webMethods and the ability to apply knowledge to other areas.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years related work experience
- Two Software AG certifications on current version of the relevant product suite.
Experience in the following areas:
- Object oriented programming (Java)
- RDBMS (Oracle, Informix, DB2, SQL Server, Sybase, MySQL)
- Operating Systems (Linux, Unix, Windows)
- EAI, middleware, or other integration experience
- Web development (Servlets, Portlets, JSP, HTML5, Javascript)
- Web services development experience, both SOAP and REST
- Messaging and file handling
- Solid development experience in the following Software AG products:
- webMethods Integration Server
- webMethods BPM and Task Engine
