Accessible Transport Driver

Main Objective:

• To provide safe, accessible, reliable and dignified transport services that enable students with disabilities to participate fully in academic, residential, social, leadership and co-curricular activities, thereby supporting the University's commitment to equity, inclusion and student success.

The Requirements

• Grade 12
• A valid Code 08 (preferably a Code 10) driver’s license)
• A Professional Driving Permit (PDP) is a requirement
• Minimum of 6 months’ driving experience in passenger transport. It could be an advantage for the incumbent to have one year of experience as a driver transporting passengers.
• Minimum of 6 months’ experience working with persons with disabilities or working with students within a higher education environment.
• Ability to operate wheelchair restraints, ramps and other accessibility equipment.
• Valid First Aid Level 1 Certificate
• Clean driving record.
