    Accountant

    Job Description

    • The incumbent will be responsible for the financial administration and control of activities within the Wool and Mohair division. The role ensures the integrity of financial information, compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and legislative requirements, while supporting effective financial management and reporting.

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualifications :

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent (e.g. BCom Accounting / or BCom Accounting and Financial Management)

    Experience :

    • Min 1-2 years Operational experience
    • Min 3–5 years’ relevant financial accounting experience
    • Experience in Forex transactions will be advantageous

    Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
    • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Good time management skills

    Knowledge & Competencies

    • Sound knowledge of GAAP and IFRS
    • Knowledge of relevant financial and company legislation
    • Understanding of budgeting and treasury processes
    • Experience with computerized financial systems (e.g. Syspro)
    • Advanced level Microsoft Office especially Excel
    • Knowledge of customs procedures
    • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Strong numeracy skills

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage financial administration and controls within the division
    • Prepare and monitor budgets
    • Perform financial reporting and analysis
    • Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data
    • Authorize and review financial transactions
    • Maintain and manage master data
    • Reconcile control accounts and ensure accuracy of records
    • Manage creditor payments and related processes
    • Ensure subsidiary companies comply with financial and legislative requirements
    • Prepare books to trial balance and assist with Annual Financial Statements (AFS)
    • Support general financial and administrative functions within the department

    Additional Requirements

    • Valid driver’s license
