Accountant Fixed Asset at Mondi Group

Job Purpose

• Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the management of fixed assets, reporting and support on technical queries, while also driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Education: Essential

• BCom with SAICA training contract (Articles)

Job Experience

• Must have completed SAICA training contract (Articles)
• Minimum of 2 years relevant commercial experience
• IFRS 16 and IAS 16 knowledge
• Microsoft packages, with advanced excel
• SAP and HFM experience will be an advantage

Key Performance Areas

• Coordinate approval of variations from approved budgets
• Coordinate budgeting/forecasting for
• project approvals and spend
• EBIT and working capital impacts of implemented projects
• Report on capex approvals and phasing of spend as well as foreign exchange impacts
• Assess lease contracts for capitalisations and manage IFRS 16 accounting
• Review material capitalisations for adequate componentisation
• Perform month end activities
• HFM uploads
• SAP processing of adjustments
• Review of monthly reconciliations of fixed asset register to general ledger
• Manage fixed asset accounting and register including capitalization, depreciation and impairment review and accounting
• Preparation of monthly working capital and inventory reports
• Preparation of statutory reporting packs
• Preparation of annual financial statements
• Provide technical IFRS support to the business
• Involvement in continuous improvement initiatives to ensure more efficient value add activities
• Ad hoc financial accounting tasks
