Accountant - Motor Industry at Astor Automotive Recruitment

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with IFRS
• Control and reconcile fixed assets, debtors, and creditors
• Perform bank, payment, stock, and balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies timeously
• Oversee vehicle stock reconciliations and stock counts
• Monitor parts and workshop cash sales
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly journals
• Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely posting
• Control branch financial activities, expenses, and risk management processes
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Proactively review accounting processes and recommend improvements
• Support and guide junior accounting staff as required
• Perform ad hoc accounting duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• BCom Degree in Accounting or similar qualification
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role within the motor industry
• Valid Code 8 Driver’s Licence
• Solid understanding of dealership financial processes and controls
