Accounting Clerk: Financial Accounting (2 Posts Available), Ref No. DOI 57/2025 at Western Cape Government

Job Purpose    

• Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government has opportunities for two (2) suitably qualified and competent individuals to render financial support services within the department.

Minimum Requirements    

• Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification) with Mathematics and/or Accounting as passed subjects.

Recommendation    

• Proven experience in MS Excel and MS Word. 

Key Performance Areas    

• Manage Cash flow administration and Banking; Manage Ledger Accounts; Manage Claims. 

Competencies    

• A good understanding of the following: financial functions, practices as well as the ability to capture data, operate computer and collate financial statistics; Public Service financial legislations, procedures and processes, National Treasury Regulations, Provincial Treasury Instructions, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), 1999, (DORA, PSA, PSR, PPPFA, Financial Manual); Financial operating systems; Database Management; Skills needed: Written and verbal communication; Proven computer literacy (MS Office); Planning and Organising; Record Keeping; Problem-solving; Interpersonal Relations; Decision making; Ability to work under pressure.
