Accounts Payable - NBA Africa at National Basketball Association (NBA)

Major responsibilities

• AP Function: Ensure NBA Africa invoices are paid on a timely manner.
• Ensure invoices in Corcentric are flowing smoothly up to the payments. Run AP pay cycles on a regular basis.
• Troubleshoot system generated issues when necessary - liaising with AP EME & US team.
• Input payments on the various banking platform and provide proof of payments when needed.
• Process monthly Banking/payment journals and assist with month end processes
• Support the implementation and testing of Corcentric & AP GL for new African entities.
• Deliver bank reconciliations on a monthly basis for African entities.
• Train new employees on how to use Corcentric Assist with internal and external audits to ensure complete, timely, and accurate responses to information requests.
• Ensure timely processing of all activities to support the monthly/quarterly/annual close periods.
• Support the tax department when needed: VAT compliance - Withholding Taxes.
• Establish solid relationships with all the Finance stakeholders based in Johannesburg, Mauritius, Senegal, London, New York and New Jersey.
• Travel and Expenses: Enforce EMEA business expense policy. Ensure Expense Reports are delivered on a timely basis by employee.
• Timely and accurate processing of company travel and expenses. Deliver monthly T&E reporting analysis.
• Ensure the supporting documentation of the central card is delivered on a timely basis.

Required Skills/Knowledge

• 5+ years of experience in an AP accounting role
• Attention to detail is essential as well as the ability to learn quickly and add value by applying analytical and business fundamentals
• Self-motivated, dedicated and driven to achieve results.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• English language fluency, plus an additional language, notably French, preferred
• Proactive willingness to 'roll-up your sleeves', strong teamwork, task prioritization and problem-solving skills

Experience Needed

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Extensive experience with SAP and Corcentric Sports, media, entertainment and/or extensive
• Pan-African experience preferred Advanced MS Excel proficiency required Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP formulas)

Education

Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting required
