Job Description

Exciting opportunity at one of our leading insurers based in Johannesburg for the right Actuarial individual. The role requires someone who will be responsible for implementing the actuarial control function across the licenses and provides actuarial services to departments within the company.

Some of the typical responsibilities will look like:

• Support the Head of Actuarial Function
• Overseeing the calculation and management of technical provisions
• Development and maintenance of actuarial models
• IFRS17 implementation
• Assist with the calculation and management of the regulatory and economic capital models
• Assist with ORSA and Risk Appetite

Should you wish to apply for the role, we would require you to have the following:

• Good progress with Actuarial exams
• At least 5 years of non-life insurance experience
• Knowledge of general insurance products
• Experience in calculating technical reserves
• Good knowledge of the regulatory environment and applicable legislation
• Well-developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Highly numerate with exceptional analytical and conceptual skills
• Advanced knowledge of ResQ and Excel
• Knowledge of Remetrica will be advantageous
