Aerial Surveillance Pilot at EarthStream

The role requires the incumbent to direct all mine site Aerial Surveillance security functions, including placement, deployment and operational application thereof. Direct Aerial Surveillance Intelligence processes and Aerial Surveillance Planning and Application management. Plan and manage all maintenance and development of Aerial Surveillance capable operations on the concession and inside the area of responsibility. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Operations.

Key areas of competence:

• Conduct air reconnaissance, surveillance, targeting and acquisition missions
• Plan and analyse flight missions
• Perform pre-flight, in flight and postflight checks and procedures
• Launch and recover air frame from runway
• Perform maintenance on communications equipment, power sources, light/heavy wheeled vehicles and crane operations
• Do constant research on the development of Aerial Surveillance capabilities and its application.
• Initiate, assess, process and implement all Aerial Surveillance Intelligence actions.
• Manage and organize the MRM Operations Room Aerial Surveillance Monitoring facility and Intelligence actions.
• Control, monitor and communicate to all operational personnel via phone, radio, briefings, meetings and verbally with regards updates on Aerial Surveillance inputs.
• Initiate and control Aerial Surveillance Applications.
• Report on matters of concern and ongoing processes, actions and incidents.
• Planning and implementing Aerial Surveillance support to RPU Teams.
• Coordinating various activities like routine patrols, reconnaissance and aerial support.
• Implementing rules and regulation of safe work environment.
• Preparing reports of security administration and presenting it to Senior Operations Manager.
• Liaising with various other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Managing and supervising security aerial staff 24/7.
• Security related Aerial Surveillance intelligence reporting to department HOD.
• Support human rights awareness training and other training among all personnel’
• Monitoring and handling current security programs.
• Organizing necessary training programs for staff.
• Conducting surveys or investigations of major loss or misappropriation of property.
• Participating in emergency situations to solve critical problems.
• Taking necessary actions to maintain safe work environment.

The role requires the following:

Experience: 

• Must have 15 years’ experience or more in Armed forces and other security agencies. A competent professional with Aerial Surveillance experience.

Education:

• Must have Grade 12 and any other military studies for 3 years minimum.

Training:

• Must be a qualified and trained Security Professional with industrial and mining experience. Grade A PSIRA.
