    Agricultural Business Advisor (60098)

    Job Description

    SA Canegrowers have a permanent vacancy for an Agricultural Business Advisors based in, Malalane, Mpumalanga

    What the position does:

    • Reporting to the Commercial Manager in the region, the successful incumbent will be responsible for supporting all small-scale growers and related structures in the area
    • The incumbent will provide business and technical advice to growers and their structures particularly cooperatives, ensuring that good governance is a key part of the support. The successful candidate will manage the administration and evaluation of training and development for the small-scale growers in their area and report and provide input on training undertaken through critically assessing training needs
    • The position will focus on initiating and managing various small-scale grower projects in the region and actively communicate and liaise with stakeholders regarding funding and resources for these projects
    • The role assists growers by developing business plans when required and actively participates on Grower and local industry structures as the SA Canegrowers Representative
    • Engaging growers and assessing needs in association with the sugar industry transformation and other developmental needs. Reviewing progress of implementation through Monitoring and Evaluation Making future recommendations to management based on the M&E

    Minimum Requirements:

    • A Degree in Agriculture Economics or Economics/ Business / Financial Management
    • Core Mathematics at a minimum of Grade 12 level is essential
    • A valid driver's license and own vehicle is essential
    • A minimum of two years' experience working in a similar Financial/ Economic Agricultural environment with an emphasis on business
    • The ability to work independently
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Excellent organisational skills
    • Proficiency in Siswati and/or Xitsonga and/or IsiZulu and English is essential
    • Proficient in MS Office
    • Ability to liaise and interact with stakeholders at various levels
    • Project management will be an advantage
