Job Description

• A challenging position, to become part of the Agricultural Development team with its vision to develop sustainable new farmers, is offered. The candidate will specifically be involved in coordination and management of the Agriqua Taung farmer development project but will also have a wider application in various agricultural development projects with regards to project management, financing and stakeholder relations. Local knowledge of the unique circumstances of the Vaalharts / Taung farming area, is essential.

Requirements

• Leadership, managerial and administrative ability
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
• Relevant experience regarding farm management, input acquisition and product markets
• Relevant qualification in Agriculture and Management

Duties and Responsibilities

• Credit management and financing
• Projects management and business planning
• Supplier relations, input acquisition and marketing of produce
• Training, mentorship and advise to developing farmers
• Farm planning and implementation
• Support emerging farmers with farm planning, good business conduct and scientific farm practices
• Farmer and role player liaison through meetings, information days, study groups and training sessions
• Implementation of farmer support functions and strategies at farm level
