Analyst - Compensation and People Analytics

ROLE | WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?

    • We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join our Cape Town-based People & Culture team, who is keen to venture into Compensation and People analytics.
    • You will report to and work closely with the Head of Total Reward and partner with the People, Finance and Legal teams to support all matters that relate to Compensation & Benefits and support the Yoco People Experience.
    • You will also work closely with the Data team to ensure the Compensation & People analytics systems and frameworks are aligned to the approach and practices of the Data team.

    Key responsibilities:

Become a subject matter expert in compensation related People processes, and combine this knowledge with your data experience to:

    • Introduce process efficiencies such as driving data quality in the source systems, and embedding this in the People team's processes, analyse and identify trends, and make informed decisions to drive improvement.
    • Build out the data models that will be the foundation of People analytics and reporting.
    • Create meaningful MI data analysis and reports on a number of topics, including performance review cycles, compensation and attrition.
    • Contribute in cyclical exercises, including job matching, market data benchmarking, monthly budget vs. forecast reporting, and the compensation review processes.

Provide process management and actionable analytics in support of core compensation processes:

    • Provide interpretive compensation-related information to the People team and the wider business,
    • Act as a point of contact for reward and benefits queries and provide collaborative support across the People team to resolve compensation-related issues.
    • Monitor local market trend information to ensure compensation programs are competitive and responsive to corporate and local business unit needs.
    • Be responsible for running regular data audits to ensure the ongoing accuracy of databases.
    • Maintain and support internal compensation-related tools.

IDEAL CANDIDATE | WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

    • We’re looking for people who want to grow. And as Yoco grows, we hope they stay with us long term.
    • Building things that make society more equal is a daunting task. And it’s not for everyone. We never stop pushing, we break things to rebuild, we challenge ourselves and our teammates, we start over, we constantly evolve, and we do it fast.

    So, who are you?

    • You’re someone who resonates with our mission, and also our values and how we work.
    • You’re a curious problem-solver with a passion for doing good. You’re bright and grounded, experimental and bold. You play open cards and get stuck in. You’re not afraid of change. You have grit, and you close the loop.

At Yoco, we love to laugh, cherish each other’s quirks, and be authentic.

Key requirements to perform responsibilities successfully:

    • You are an experienced Data Analyst with a background in Business Analytics/Intelligence or are a generalist analytical thinker with a strong technical foundation (Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or Actuarial Science) looking to apply familiar techniques to Compensation and People Analytics.
    • You have had strong data modelling experience, and ideally, have experience using foundational dimensional modelling techniques:
    • You have 5+ years of experience in data analytics, analytics engineering or applied analytics,
    • Bonus points if you have experience in compensation analytics and combining internal employee data and external market data for insights on internal equity and external competitiveness of compensation patterns and practices.
    • You have previous experience working collaboratively to support change in a dynamic, multi-market environment.
    • You have an aptitude for balancing multiple priorities with strong organisation and prioritisation capability.
