Analyst Laboratory - Mamatwan at South32

POSITION SYNOPSIS:

• The main purpose of the role is to report analytical results to the processing plants, the safe storage and disposal of routine lab chemical waste and old samples, adherence to Laboratory standard operating procedures and QA/QC protocols and housekeeping.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Serious contenders will have a Grade 12 with Mathematics and or Science;
•  A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a laboratory;
• Knowledge of LIMS, Geobank and AMPLA is essential;
• Valid Driver’s license is advantageous.
   

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Sample receiving and Logging on LIMS;
• XRF sample preparation (Pulverize, Press Pellet and fusion);
• Operate analytical equipment such as Pulverizer, Press machine, Fusion machine and XRF machine;
• Analysis of raw materials, process and finished products samples using applicable laboratory techniques;
• Verify analytical data;
• Timeous reporting of analytical data;
• Report Laboratory equipment breakdowns;
• Adhere to safety and GLP standards.
