Analyst Programmer

A typical day will include:

• Analysis, technical design and development aligned to team processes and requirements;
• Maintaining and supporting existing systems;
• Interpreting user requirements and translating into integration designs;
• Investigating and solving systems issues
• Ensuring effective operations;
• Implementing approved changes as per change control and security processes; and,
• Planning, organising and controlling own work effort, including regular progress feedback to own and other relevant areas.

To apply, you need to have a 3-year IT Diploma coupled with at least 3 years’ professional development experience.

You must have experience using the following technologies:

• Java or Python (or any modern programming languages);
• OO, SOA and API concepts; and,
• SOAP- and REST API’s using XML and JSON formats.

Experience with the following technologies will be advantageous:

• Middleware and Interation technologies (IBM Integration BusMessage Broker, IBM MQ);
• Cloud-based technologies and platforms (AWS, Azure, Lamda functions, serverless computing, etc.);
• Event-streams platforms (Kafka, Confluent, etc.); and,
• API management platforms (IBM API Manager, WS02, etc.).

You will have to rely on your great technical skills and programming ability, combined with your willingness to learn and adapt, to succeed in this role.  You need to be familiar with project management methodologies and have relevant business process knowledge.
