Analytical Chemist at Vaal Central Water

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Compile, implement and validate test methods to ensure credibility of test results.
• Compile and update methods manuals for instrumentation lab.
• Observe trends on the control charts, investigate non-compliance to management system and implement corrective actions.
• Compile weekly water quality failure reports and forward them to the regions for action.
• Investigate root cause(s) of non-conformances registered during internal and external audits and implement corrective actions(s).
• Benchmark best practices with other stakeholders in the industry and recommends an appropriate methodology.
• Plan for repair and maintenance of instruments including troubleshooting of reported faults.
• Compile and submit sectional monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Supervise all instrumentation laboratories.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety and environmental standards in the workplace.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

•  Honours in Chemistry.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a SANAS accredited laboratory at supervisory level.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Computer literacy.
• SANAS approved Technical Signatory.
