JOB OVERVIEW

• Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo is hiring and invites qualifying candidates to submit applications for the vacancy: Artisan Assistant [x22 posts].

JOB PURPOSE

• To maintain parks facilities, playground equipment and buildings of JCPZ.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete own worksheet and follow checklist
•  Installation of bins and benches within JCPZ parks
• Repairing of palisade and colonial fencing
•  Welding and fencing
•  Repairing of damaged walls
• Repairing of damaged paving
• Manufacturing of concrete main whole covers
•  Clean work area to specifications
•  Relay messages between operations
•  Assess condition of work
• Work according to checklist
•  Clean working tools
•  Put all equipment in designated areas
•  Report all deviations, incident & hazardous conditions
•  Ensure PPE compliance
•  Attend daily, weekly or monthly staff meetings
• Utilise specified tools and equipment
•  Relay messages between operations
•  Participate in personal development plan formulation
• Follow personal development plan
• Follow structured reading list and/or development initiatives
•  Seek new ideas and work procedures to exceed expectations.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 10
• Minimum 1 — 2 years’ experience in artisan field
• English proficiency.
