Artisan Boilermaker - Northam Development at Redpath Mining

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Matric certificate/ equivalent
• Section 13 Trade Test (Sec 26D) as a qualified boilermaker
• Competent B Certificate
• Valid driver’s license and reliable own transport
• Medically Fit
• Valid First Aid Certificate

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Shaft repairs and maintenance experience
• At least 3 years’ underground experience as a qualified artisan
• Workshop procedures regarding flame cutting
• Installation and maintenance of pipe column
• Maintenance of quality engineering standards
• Knowledge of environmental, health and safety standards and regulations

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Report on all incidents and accidents
• Construction and erection of structures and infrastructure
• Equipment installation, repair, and maintenance
• Risk assessments must be conducted for each task
• Ensure tools and equipment are sufficient, in good condition and safe to use
• All legal inspections must be conducted according to the time intervals and true report is recorded I the record book
• Report and act on all unsafe conditions and unsafe acts
• Be responsible for own sub-ordinates and the maintenance schedule
• Ensure all spares and tools are available for the service.
• Operator pre-use checklist must be checked regularly and signed off
• Ensuring all safety regulations are followed and that all staff are equipped with the necessary safety gear and knowledge
