Artisan Boilermaker - Wessels Mine at South32

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• This role is a permanent full-time position.
• As an Artisan Boilermaker, you will be responsible for timely installation, repair and maintenance of equipment to ensure that mining activities are executed in a safe manner as well as operate equipment and tests all working parts in functional area to ensure proper utilization.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Interprets and coordinates pre-work with regards to repairs, interpretation of hydraulic diagrams, planned and predictive maintenance;
• Accesses any area safely to perform necessary maintenance on machines or equipment;
• Performs safety inspections of equipment and assesses risks on equipment;
• Maintains a clean and safe worksite;
• Ensures the upkeep of maintenance tools and equipment.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have a minimum of 3 years’ technical experience as a qualified Boilermaker of which 1 year on Heavy Mining;
• Experience in fabrication of pipe work and structures in an underground environment is essential;
• Ability to read drawings and fabricate accordingly;
• Experience in maintaining fix processing plant equipment will be advantageous;
• Working experience in SAP/1SAP will be advantageous.

Qualifications for this role are:;

• Grade 12;
• N2 Technical Certificate;
• Plater/Welder/Boilermaker Trade Test;
• Valid Code 08 Driver’s license is essential.
