Artisan – Dayshift Millwright Utilities at Columbus Stainless

Description

• Perform Daily Plant Inspections and Maintenance Tasks as per maintenance schedules.
• Perform Shutdown Maintenance Tasks.
• Respond to Ad Hoc- / Breakdown requests.
• Planned Maintenance System Adherence.  (Job Cards / Inspection Schedules to be completed and returned to the Team Manager)
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations. (Following lockout procedures, signing and managing of work permits, wearing correct PPE,participating in daily safety discussions, and attending monthly safety meetings.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by properly storing tools and materials, and ensuring all machines and workstations are kept     in good, operational condition.

Requirements

• Experience (More than 1 year will be advantageous)

Hydraulics

• Perform maintenance on all hydraulic systems. (Cylinders, valves, controls, filters, pumps, hoses, and fittings)

Mechanical

• Repair equipment like gearboxes, pumps, fans, drives, and valves to restore normal operation.

Electrical

• Basic electrical fault finding, Connecting / disconnecting components etc.

Basic Instrumentation

• Basic process instrumentation (solenoids, limit switches, rotary switches…)

Basic rigging and lifting technique

• To perform basic rigging, and do basic lifting with the following equipment:
• Chain block and slings, Lever hoist, Wire rope, web slings, shackles, eye bolts, Oblongs, air hoist and air winch.

Arc Welding

• To perform basic welding and gas cutting.

Assemblies of machinery

• Must be able to dismantle, assemble different types of equipment.

Primary Qualifications: 

• Trade Relevant N3/ Technical Matric/ NCV L4 with maths and science

Additional vocational/ specialised qualifications/ certifications

• Millwright Trade Test
