    Artisan: Technician - Pretoria

    Main Objectives

     

    • To carry out responsibilities of Plant functions and engineering functions of the site maintenance teams, whereby carry our repairs to Plc’s and Scada systems, and the electrical field and control devices, improve plant settings and synchronization.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Monitor and adjust, when necessary, plant set points to ensure effective and efficient running of plants.
    • Carrying out of scheduled preventative maintenance on Plc, MCC rooms equipment.
    • Fault finding on Mixer’s pant equipment, conveyors oven, final proover, first proover and Moulder and bagging and slicing equipment.
    • Assist Millwrights with plant fault finding via the Omron PLC’S.
    • Responsible for network redundancy, Baluf units.
    • Fault finding and repairs on electrical and mechanical On Omron Plc, VSD’S and
    • Perform standby on a rotational basis.
    • Work overtime as a result of breakdowns and planned maintenance when required.
    • Check report on shift handovers daily and liaise with Maintenance Manager on action to be taken on reported defects.
    • Report any defects noticed while performing normal functions.
    • Improve throughput of plant by assisting with plant setting.
    • Minimize downtime.

    Qualification Requirements    

    • Appropriate engineering qualifications (trade test + N3 and N6)

    Experience Requirements    

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in baking and milling environment, after obtaining qualifications as an Electrician/Millwright/Instrument Technician with the focus on the following:
    • Hands on knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems Experience with scales, speed drives, pneumatic, electrical, instrumentation and hydraulics Must be able to read and update electrical drawings
    • Experience with electrical power distribution (medium and low voltage)
    • Knowledge of safety checks on mechanical equipment in accordance with OHSA
    • Knowledge of Omron HMI, PLC Software Knowledge of Yaskawa Inverter Drives Knowledge of Scada Systems
    • Understanding of Computer Networks shift work standby on a rotational basis

    • Pressurised role, deadline driven.
