Assistant Broiler Farm Manager - FTC (KZN377 at Astral Foods Ltd

Role Responsibilities:

• The role will report to the Broiler and Contract Grower Manager.
• Assisting with the daily management of the farms.
• Monitoring bird health, welfare, and performance.
• Maintaining high standards of biosecurity and animal welfare.
• Helping to manage farm staff providing guidance and support where needed.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and industry regulations. 
• Monitor bird health, mortality rates and feed/water consumption daily.
• Manage ventilation, lighting and temperature controls.
• Enforce strict hygiene protocols to prevent disease outbreaks on site.
• Co-ordinate, schedule and supervise farm staff.
• Keep meticulous records.
• Implementing and maintaining 20 Keys.
• Able to work irregular hours, including weekends, shifts and public holidays. 

Required Qualification and Knowledge: 

• Grade 12
• Agricultural Diploma or Poultry certificate is highly preferred.
• 2-4 years of broiler production experience.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Focus on people, 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid Driving license
• Able to work under pressure
• A pro-active approach to problem solving and operational challenges.
• Adaptable to changing environments. 
• Must have a passion for people and animals.
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook).
• Good Health and sober habits.
• A positive attitude and eagerness to learn
