Assistant Company Secretary at Salt South Africa

• We are seeking a highly organised and detail-driven Assistant Company Secretary to support the company secretarial and corporate governance function. This role involves working closely with the Board, Committees and senior stakeholders to ensure compliance and efficient administration of governance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Support corporate governance and ensure compliance with Companies Act and King IV
• Prepare and manage Board and Committee documentation including agendas, minutes and resolutions
• Coordinate Board and Committee meetings and ensure timely distribution of packs
• Maintain statutory records and ensure accurate filing with relevant authorities
• Liaise with Board members, executives and external stakeholders
• Assist with governance reporting, compliance tracking and policy updates
• Support company secretarial administration including CIPC submissions and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• CIS qualification (required)
• 5+ years experience in a company secretarial or governance role
• Strong understanding of corporate governance frameworks and legislation
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills
• Strong written and verbal communication
