    Assistant Director- Physiotherapist

    Requirements :

    • An appropriate qualification that allows for registration with the HPCSA as Physiotherapist. Current Registration with HPCSA as an independent practitioner and current registration for 2025/2026.
    • A minimum of five [5] years’ appropriate experience in Physiotherapy of with at least 3 years in a supervisory /managerial position or as a Chief Physiotherapist.
    • Knowledge requirements: Must have knowledge of current health and public service legislation, regulations, and policies. Knowledge in the application of clinical Physiotherapy theory, practices, and ethics.
    • Competency requirements: Communication skills, report writing skills, decision-making skills, planning & organizational skills, expert clinical Physiotherapy skills, research skills, analytical skills, computer literacy &, presentation skills, human resource & financial management skills as well as network and liaison skills.

    Duties :

    • Strategic management, development, coordination and reporting of a quality and sustainable Physiotherapy service. Integrate comprehensive Physiotherapy services within the hospital service package.
    • Promote and support good clinical governance through the development and maintenance of systems and processes for the provision of quality Physiotherapy services. Coordinating all activities in the department, daily administrative duties and effective implementation of work procedures as required by the Department of Health.
    • Utilize health information technology and other health information systems to enhance physiotherapy service delivery. Provide input into the development of policies, guidelines, protocols and SOP’s for/relating to Physiotherapy. Implement, monitor and review Physiotherapy guidelines, protocols and Sop’s. Achieve a state of readiness for NHI.
    • Promote and assist in relevant ongoing and new research and capacity building. Coordinate student training. Support Human resource management and development including staff recruitment and retention, and performance management and development of staff. Supervise, mentor and manage the performance of subordinates.
    • Compile and manage budgets, control cash flows, institute risk management and administer procurement processes in accordance with recognised financial practices to support and achieve organisational objectives.
    • Ensure effective management of assets, procurement and maintenance. Manage relationship with all relevant stakeholders e.g. universities, NGO’s, Rehabilitation facilities, out referral institutions, schools, etc.
