Assistant Electrical Foreman at Rand Water

Job Advert Summary    

Reporting to the Electrical Foreman the successful candidate will be responsible for supervision, control and organizing of the Maintenance Electrical Section staff under his/her control in order to ensure availability of an efficient plant and continuous water supply to customers.

Minimum Requirements    

• N3/Grade 12 certificate or equivalent coupled with a recognized trade test as an Electrician.
• 5 years working experience in an electrical workshop environment of which 2 years must be in a supervisory capacity.
• A valid Code 08 Driver ‘s license and the ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 test.
• Experience in Industrial Relations.
• Computer Literate.

Primary Duties    

The critical functions will include:

• Meeting machinery availability demands by ensuring plant availability and reliability at the most cost effective manner.
• Maintenance of electrical plant.
• Supervision of staff including contractors working on site
• Maintaining good labour relations.
• Budgeting & budget control.
• Management & maintenance of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality management systems.

Knowledge    

• HT, LT, HV and LV
• AC and DC drives
• Schematic drawings
• ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001
• MS Office
• Safety procedures

Skills    

• Proven ability to find faults and maintain systems
• Problem solving
• Control, motivate and supervision of staff
• Good communication skills (Written and verbal)
• Conflict resolution
