Assistant Finance Manager at Emerson

You will provide support to our Automation Solutions business, through the preparation of operational data/analyses for publication to various constituents (Management, Sales, Operations etc), who rely on/ benefit from the information to make business decisions. Primary responsibilities will include assisting the Finance Controller in establishing new, and improving existing processes and controls for periodic finance and operational reviews, identification of areas for operational improvements, annual budget process, periodic forecasting and periodic analysis of operations performance.

Specifically you will be responsible for:

• Support in developing annual operating and capital Budgets, including P&L and balance sheet
• Develop and analyze monthly forecasts for the business unit; identify business risks as they arise and propose mitigation strategies
• Co-ordinate budgets and forecast preparation process with department leads; provide finance advice to department leaders and senior management in matters of budgeting, financial analysis and reporting
• Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual financial closes, meeting reporting deadlines of the business unit and explaining variations to forecasts, SG&A analysis
• Managing the organization’s monthly reporting process; ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information to internal and external stakeholders in compliance with reporting requirements
• Prepare management reports defining key indicators and metrics and provide comprehensive variance analysis
• Consolidate large amounts of complex information into simple and easy to understand reports
• Support on standard Emerson Planning Cycle exhibits & exhibits related to Operational performance (Backlog aging/ITO/DPO/DSO/Delivery)
• Develop and document accounting processes in order to improve and efficiently utilize current tools and resources while ensuring compliance
• Contribute team playing, creative thinking and solutions that help achieve organizational objectives
• Recognise and accept HSE Roles & Responsibilities as defined in Emerson’s Company Procedures

Requirements

• Accounting or Finance Degree
• Professional qualification (CA, CPA, CIMA, ACCA)
• Experience in a global organisation
• 5+ years experience in FP&A, corporate accounting or finance
• Expertise in SAP, HFM, Excel and PowerPoint
