Assist the Galley Manager in managing and training a team of galley staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants
Monitor and maintain food quality and presentation, ensuring that all dishes meet our standards and guest expectations
Oversee inventory and ordering of food and supplies, maintaining accurate records and controlling costs
Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards, conducting regular inspections and training staff as needed
Collaborate with other departments, such as dining and housekeeping, to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction
Assist with menu planning and development, taking into consideration guest feedback, dietary restrictions, and seasonal availability of ingredients
Manage and troubleshoot any issues or challenges that may arise in the galley, communicating effectively with the Galley Manager and other department heads
Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and professional development for all galley staff
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in a cruise ship or hotel setting
Culinary degree or equivalent experience in a professional kitchen
Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Flexibility to work long hours and adapt to changing schedules and demands
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Must be eligible to work on a cruise ship and travel internationally
