Assistant Maitre'd at Crew Life at Sea

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Maitre'd in managing the dining room operations, including seating arrangements, table settings, and guest satisfaction
• Supervise and train the waitstaff to ensure consistent and exceptional service
• Assist with creating and implementing menus, ensuring variety and high-quality food offerings
• Maintain a professional and welcoming atmosphere in the dining room, ensuring all guests feel comfortable and well taken care of
• Handle guest complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner
• Work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication and timely delivery of food orders
• Monitor inventory and supplies, placing orders as needed to maintain stock levels
• Assist with scheduling and payroll for the dining room team
• Follow all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized dining room

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or cruise ship
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong customer service skills and a passion for creating memorable dining experiences
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
• Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning and inventory management
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus
• Must be able to pass a background check and obtain necessary certifications for working on a cruise ship
