Freedom Stationery is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager: Operations and Administration to support manufacturing, warehouse, and administrative operations at our Isithebe facility. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational efficiency, people management, compliance, and performance monitoring in line with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and support daily operations across manufacturing, warehouse, and administration functions.
Oversee asset management, including asset verification, control, acquisition, and disposal.
Manage raw material stock control and production planning, including minimum stock levels, slow-moving stock, and reorder quantities.
Monitor operational performance, compare plan vs actual results, and report on OEE and productivity.
Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives and participate in Level 2 and 3 Lean meetings.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015, SABS, HSE, and Lean principles.
Lead and manage people performance, including KPIs, training, development plans, and discipline where required.
Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Prepare and present monthly management reports, stock reports, variance reports, and operational dashboards.
Coordinate cross-functional meetings with Production, Maintenance, Planning, Finance, HR, and Senior Management.
Support recruitment processes and manage temporary workforce contracts.
Job Requirements
Relevant Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field.
Certification in ISO-related courses (advantageous).
Certification in Human Resources (advantageous).
Minimum 3 years’ experience in an operations or manufacturing management environment.
Strong working knowledge of Syspro, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Sound understanding of QMS, HSE, labour legislation, and compliance requirements.
