Our Talent Team is seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Packaging Manager to join our Growth Division. The role will be based in Randfontein and report to the R&D Packaging Manager.

RCL FOODS entrusts the Assistant Packaging Manager to operationalise packaging innovation and delivery to arrive at an approved packaging specification with supporting documentation to enable launch. Establish feasibility and capability for best-purpose packaging through working with the brand teams to formulate project timelines.

Minimum Requirements    

• Must have a Packaging Diploma.
• Must have a minimum of one other related qualification in Food Tech and/or Quality would be advantageous.
• A Marketing and/or Business qualification advantageous.
• Minimum of 4+ years in FMCG Packaging development and delivery.
• Working knowledge of MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Proven track record within the Packaging Industry.
• Specialist Technical Knowledge in:
• RCL Systems & Process Navigations (NPD).
• Understanding of cross-functional roles & responsibilities.
• Ability to leverage operational team support.
• Understanding of all packaging categories.

Duties & Responsibilities    
Establish Feasibility & Capability and deliver into launch of Innovation program projects for the BU including but not limited to:

• Artwork management.
• Timeline construction with PTM and maintenance.
• Service the brand team.
• Trials.
• Supplier involvement.
• Feedback.
• Identification and execution of saving projects delivering to the Value Engineering Program.
• Develop and Maintain R&D Systems and Processes.
