Assistant Portfolio Manager – Rest of Africa | Listed Equities
An established institutional asset manager is seeking an experienced Assistant Portfolio Manager – Rest of Africa to support the management of a listed equities portfolio across African markets.
The successful candidate will conduct country, sector and listed-security research, formulate investment views and provide buy/sell recommendations supported by detailed investment theses and fundamental valuations.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct fundamental listed-equity and capital markets research across African markets.
Develop country and sector views considering macroeconomic, currency and market factors.
Make country allocation and security recommendations supported by detailed investment theses.
Develop, maintain and update fundamental valuation models.
Analyse portfolio and security exposures against valuations.
Present investment recommendations to Portfolio Management and Listed Equities teams.
Provide ongoing company, industry and valuation research.
Travel across relevant African markets as required.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance or Science.
5–7 years' relevant experience within investment management, banking or management consulting.
Strong understanding of Rest of Africa capital markets and their key drivers.
Strong knowledge of macroeconomics, currencies, country allocation and investment risk.
Demonstrated experience in equity/security research and fundamental valuation modelling.
Strong numerical, analytical, written and presentation skills.
