    Assistant Teacher / Learning Support Facilitator) x 2 Posts

    Role Overview

    • We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Teacher / Learning Support Facilitator to support learners with autism in our Early Learning Centre. This role is ideal for someone with practical, hands-on experience in autism support who is passionate about early childhood development and inclusive education.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the lead teacher in daily classroom activities and structured learning programmes
    • Assist in implementing individualised learning plans (IEPs)
    • Apply autism-specific strategies such as visual supports, structured routines, and basic behaviour support techniques
    • Provide one-on-one and small group support to learners
    • Assist with classroom preparation, organisation, and maintaining a structured environment
    • Support learners with communication, social interaction, and daily routines
    • Work collaboratively with the teaching team and therapists

    Basic but essential Requirements

    • Relevant qualification or studying towards Education, ECD, or Special Needs Education
    • Experience working with children on the autism spectrum (formal or informal)
    • Basic understanding of autism methodologies (e.g. structured teaching, visual schedules)
    • Good communication and teamwork skills
    • Ability to work in a structured and supportive environment

    Preferred Attributes

    • Experience in an Early Learning Centre or similar setting
    • Exposure to autism-specific approaches (ABA, TEACCH, methodology )
    • Willingness to learn and grow within the field of special needs education
    • Reliable, proactive, and passionate about working with children
    • Advantageous : Own transport 

    Remuneration

    • Salary ranges from R4,000 , and up per month (entry-level), dependent on experience and qualifications
