Assistant Vegetable Seedling Manager - Pietermaritzburg at TWK Agri

Responsibilities and Duties 

• Vegetable production planning
• Order seed to ensure no breaks in production
• Implements a JIT system
• Does monthly stock take and comparing sales / orders and stocks
• Checking of seeding operation and media preparation
• Ensuring ISO systems are followed in regards to seed preparation and sowing
• Capturing orders and updating the Plan-a-head system
• Assisting with vehicle licensing
• Ensure delivery schedules are followed
• Assist in drawing up a budget for annual production, sales and costing
• Capturing orders and doing confirmation of Orders
• Ensuring that plants leaving the nursery are in line with ISO 9001 quality specifications and customers own requirements
• ISO auditing when required
• Assisting with quotations

Qualifications and Skills 

• Matric / Grade 12
• Diploma or degree in Forestry, Horticulture or Agriculture
• 2 – 4 years working experience in the nursery industry (advantageous)
• Ability to speak English, isiZulu and Afrikaans (advantageous)
• Ability to work independently
• Valid driver’s license
• Willing to travel to see customers
• Willing to perform weekend duty and work public holidays when necessary
• Ability to work in a corporate environment
