    Associate Director - Technology Strategy & Transformation

    Job Description

    Main Purpose of Job

    • The main purpose of the job is to drive the implementation of strategy, revenue generation and business growth for the Technology Strategy and Transformation business. The successful person will focus on the management and delivery of client engagements, as well as sales and practice development.

    Key Performance Areas

    Strategic Impact

    • Give meaningful input into the development of strategy of the Service Line / Business Area in relation to specific area of expertise

    Implements the strategy within area of business through detailed plan including:

    • Client targets to achieve revenue
    • Marketing plan
    • People plan to deliver on goals
    • Communication plan
    • Contingency plan for possible additional resources e.g. contractors
    • Tracking of plans
    • Identifies innovative solutions to enhance / renew service offerings to market
    • Heads up sales presentation teams for new and retained business
    • Leads negotiations with clients
    • Actively identifies multiple sales opportunities and leads pursuit process
    • Leads/contributes to preparation of proposals/tenders and presentations
    • Builds relationships across service lines for cross-selling opportunities and combined engagement pursuits
    • Drives own client portfolio and profitable book of business

    Client Impact: External / Internal

    • Maintains high level oversight of client projects
    • Develops productive, credible and trusting relationships with current and targeted clients
    • Develops a network of senior-level internal relationships across Deloitte to understand other business unit offerings and market own area
    • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with business leaders across industries.

    Operational Effectiveness

    • Validates all SLA’s are in place and signed off by all parties
    • Oversees engagement risk to ensure all required documentation and processes are completed as required by RIL
    • Directs and manages complex client engagements and maintains high level oversight of all projects
    • Analyses weekly/monthly reports from senior managers and approves process changes / innovative solutions on issues arising
    • Drives Deloitte values of exceptional service to clients, growing the firm’s brand and talent development

    Development/Growth of Team

    • Identifies and recruits’ suitable talent for team, balancing correct levels and numbers
    • Maintains succession plan for every senior/critical resource, depending on the profile / need expertise
    • Mentors and develops team members on an ongoing basis and empower existing senior managers/leaders
    • Maintains close working relationship with key talent
    • Maintains own development and knowledge in specialised area and business
    • Demonstrates commitment to transformation agenda of the firm

    Budgets / Profitability

    • Manages margins effectively through correct budgeting, pricing and profitability management
    • Monitors that time and expenses to engagements are recorded and submitted weekly
    • Negotiates pricing for engagements to ensure profitability whilst maintaining client interests
    • Manages WIP – billings and cash collections

    Specialised competencies:

    Sets Strategy and Drives Delivery Excellence for Technology Strategy & Transformation:

    • Ability to lead client through end-to-end design and delivery of forward looking, holistic, and business-aligned Technology Strategy, Enterprise Architecture, Operating Model and technology system selection
    • Owns end-to-end delivery of enterprise-level technology and Technology programs, including requirements, supporting strategies and architectures
    • Understands the interlinks between the sub-offerings at a technical level to enhance market presence
    • Adopts a holistic view when recommending solutions, leveraging leading practices to align technology strategy with business strategy and specific industry issues
    • Anticipates risks, opportunities, and broader organizational implications of proposed recommendations, and proactively define mitigating solutions
    • Leads stakeholders in building executive-level support and organizational buy-in to help enable and sustain the proposed programs
    • Builds a brand within a chosen domain and industry and is regarded internally and externally as a subject matter expert
    • Stays current on market trends and regulations and anticipates risk / opportunities; advises client accordingly.

    Sets Strategy for ServiceNow Engagements:

    • Lead the design of the client’s ServiceNow strategy and operating model and ensures proper alignment between the business strategy and the supporting IT strategy throughout the development
    • Stay current on emerging trends and technologies within the ServiceNow space and uses to drive innovative solutions based on client’s desired functionality, improve the user experience and enhance IT service delivery
    • Lead the architecture components of the work to design the client’s architecture blueprint, across the various layers (business, integration, data, application, security, infrastructure) leveraging ServiceNow’s product suite
    • Lead a team to develop a robust ServiceNow implementation and defines integration points with the broader business.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Minimum qualifications:

    • Relevant Degree, Honours, or Post Graduate Diploma.
    • Professional certifications such as COBIT, TOGAF, ITIL, CISSP, Cloud Certifications, Agile, PMBOK + relevant CPD

    Desired qualifications:

    • Advanced degree in Information Technology or Business (e.g. MBA or similar) preferred but not essential.

    Experience:

    • 12+ years relevant working experience in a client facing role with at least 7 years in a management role
    • Business development / market making experience
    • Proven expertise in digital system implementations, process improvements, risk analysis, and operational transformation
    • A track record of hypothesis-driven problem-solving and delivering exceptional outcomes in high-pressure environments
    • Solid grasp of technical skills and methodology
    • Knowledge on emerging technologies, including Cloud, AI, etc.
    • Demonstrable understanding of large-scale information technology application systems, infrastructure, business processes and security standards
    • Proven experience in responding to proposals / business development opportunities.
