Assurance, Risk and Internal Control (ARIC) & Operational Excellence Specialist at ABB

You will be a part of the Electrification business for Distribution Solutions Business line based in Modderfontein South Africa. We sell low and medium voltage products for homes and commercial buildings, manufacturing and processing industries and utilities worldwide. Our products and systems are sold via wholesalers, panel builders, OEMs, distributors and systems integrators and you will be designed to distribute power, manage, control and monitor machines, protect people and machinery, and help to reduce energy consumption.

Your Responsibilities

• Supporting and guiding management in shaping the next level of Assurance, Risk and Internal Control & OpEx.
• Keeping in mind ABB’s overall strategy and goals you will define and develop OpEx as well as ARIC plans, support their local adoption as well as deployment and provide expertise to businesses and functions in implementing Internal Control solutions in their area of responsibility.
• Ensuring that the local organization has an effective management system that addresses Internal Control practices within the operation.
• Providing oversight as the first line to ensure operational management maintains a robust risk and control environment. This also includes training local Control owners and control performers to have the necessary skills ensuring a sound internal control structure.
• Working tasks will also include partnering with local management team to set up a strategic project framework and monitor progress on the projects.
• You will also be initiating and driving improvement projects as well as supporting process design enhancements to standardize processes and controls.

Your background

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or relevant qualification.
• Minimum 3years’ experience in similar role.
• Experience in Internal Control or Process Improvements and working with Lean or Six Sigma as a change agent is advantageous.
• Required knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Good skills Office 365, especially excel and SharePoint or sites is a merit.
• Working in a global environment you are fluent in English, written and spoken alike.
